Custom Costume Order Policy – India Jean

Thank you for choosing India Jean for your custom costume! Each piece is handmade with love, detail and sparkle, just for you. To help ensure a smooth and respectful process for both of us, please read through the policy below before placing your order:

📌 ORDER PROCESS

  • All custom orders require a non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. This deposit is applied to the total cost.
  • Full payment must be received before your costume stakes shape.
  • Turnaround time is typically 2–3 months. Rush orders (less than 6 weeks) incur a 30% rush fee and are subject to availability.

Client Experience & Communication

At India Jean, every custom piece is a collaborative process — your vision paired with my craftsmanship. To honour your design, time, and the quality I promise, I ask for the following:

🕊️ Timely Communication

To begin your design, I require all essential details (measurements, design preferences, colour choices, etc.) within 7 days of your deposit.

If I haven’t received this information by then, your order may be cancelled, and a $50 AUD administration fee will apply to cover time reserved for your booking.

Rush Orders

For turnaround requests under 4 weeks, all required details must be submitted within 48 hours of your deposit.
Delayed communication compromises the timeline and may result in cancellation, with 30% of the total retained to cover priority scheduling.

💌 Communication Commitment

Creating your costume is a time-sensitive and intimate process. If communication becomes inconsistent or unresponsive despite follow-ups, I may cancel your order in alignment with the above terms.

These boundaries are in place to protect your timeline, my workflow, and the magic we create together.

👗 FIT + TRY-ON POLICY

  • Upon receiving your costume, you have 7 days to try it on and notify us of any fit issues or alterations that might be needed.
  • After 7 days, we assume the fit and quality have been approved, and any further alterations will be charged as a separate service if accepted.
  • Alterations outside the 7-day window are subject to scheduling availability and will incur an additional fee.

🧵 HANDMADE VARIATIONS

  • All pieces are handmade, which means slight variances in stitching, embellishment placement, or fabric texture may occur. These are part of the character of a handcrafted garment and not considered faults.

🔄 RETURNS + REFUNDS

  • Due to the custom nature of these designs, no refunds or returns are offered.
  • Change of mind, event cancellation, or measurement changes are not eligible for a refund.

📸 CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

  • Please provide accurate, up-to-date measurements. India Jean is not responsible for fit issues due to incorrect or outdated measurements.
  • Storing your costume flat or hanging it carefully will help maintain its structure and sparkle.
  • We suggest hand washing your costume in warm water with a gentle fabric wash
  • Dry your costume in the shade out of direct sunlight
